So what do we do and how does it work?The concept behind this website is to give you, the DJ, access to information to help you source emergency cover for an event in case of sickness, mechanical or equipment breakdown. This is a non profit making initiative with the full support of both major DJ associations in an effort to pool resources to support the independent DJ when occasionally things don’t go to plan.
We talk to associations and suppliers to help us centralise resources for mobile DJs and that consists of everything from a manual for a lighting fixture, out of hours equipment hire to a live database for last minute backup DJ availability. The DJ community as a whole would be amazed at the level of commitment others are prepared to offer to see that the job gets done by a professional!
What do you do and what do you get out of it?
Our online DJ callendar is only as good as the information you are prepared to put in so if you don’t make other DJs aware you are available in your region on a specific date then you can potentially loose out on a booking. Keeping your booking information up to date is essential and costs you nothing other than a few minutes each week. Not only will this database help you maintain your reputation under exceptional circumstances it will offer a safety net to your clients.
If you choose to undertake an agreement with an emergency stand-in DJ then that is between you and the DJ in question, all we can recommend is that you choose either a member of NADJ or SEDA as PAT and PLI is a mandatory part of the membership. Alternatively any reputable DJ will be able to present this documentation to the venue on arrival or via download. |
